SOUTH AND CENTRAL PACIFIC / NORTH ZONE
15 days / 14 nights
High Season (December 1st, 2001 to April 30th, 2002)

DAY 1
Arrival to Costa Rica. Transfer to San José. Overnight in CACTS HOTEL

DAY 2
Early departure (4 a.m.) to Corcovado. This is a 7 hours trip up to “rincón” river in the “Golfo Dulce” (Sweet Gulf), in the south pacific coast. Here we leave the bus to take a “tractor” driving up against the river. Overnight (3 nights) in COOPEUNIORO LODGE.


DAY 3 - 4
Hiking In the reserve of the cooperative and into the Corcovado National Park.

DAY 5
Departure to Quepos, near Manuel Antonio National Park area. Arrival to COOPE-SILENCIO LODGE, in the early afternoon. Overnight for 2 nights. The community of “El Silencio” is an example of the cooperative development in Costa Rica. Here the group can visit the reserve and plantations. A night tour can give them the possibility to find, nocturnal birds, insects, frogs and snakes. (L-D-B)

DAY 6
Visit to the reserve of the cooperative and also the Manuel Antonio National Park . Return to the lodge.

DAY 7
Departure to Monteverde. Here the group will spend two days knowing and studying the Cloud forest and surrounded areas. Overnight in VILLA VERDE HOTEL for 2 nights. (D-B-L)

DAY 8
Day in Monteverde

DAY 9
Departure to Tenorio volcano area. Overnight in LAS HELICONIAS LODGE (D-B-L)

DAY 10
Tour to Danta Lagoon or “Celeste” river (depending of weather). Return to the Lodge.

DAY 11
Boat Tour in Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, continuing to to Arenal volcano area. Overnight in LA CATARATA LODGE (D-B-L)

DAY 12
Horse back riding to “La Fortuna Waterfall”. Departure early afternoon to Aguas Zarcas, one hour far from Arenal. Overnight in COOPE SAN JUAN, another laborious community growing around pineapple plantations, yuca, forest protection and “eco-agro-tourism”, a real new concept in tourism. (D-B-L)


DAY 13
Departure to Sarapiquí. Visit to LA SELVA BIOLOGICAL STATION Overnight in LA QUINTA LODGE (D-B-L)

DAY 14
Departure to San José Overnight in CACTS HOTEL (B)

DAY 15
Transfer to the AIRPORT / END OF SERVICES
